constant payment

a periodic payment of a fixed amount that includes interest and principal. While the total amount of the payment remains the same, the ratio of principal and interest included in the payment changes. As the loan is paid off, the portion of the payment applied to the principal increases. Most home mortgages are constant payment loans.
